The 10 Best Things About Camp Good Life.

AS TOLD BY OUR GUESTS

#1.

The loos and showers. Yep. In at number #1.

You simply do not get loos, or showers, this good at any other festival.

We’re particularly proud of these, and suspect that you might just think of us next time you’re queuing for a plastic portaloo!

#2.

The size. At its largest on Saturday, Camp Good Life saw just under 1,400 people on site.

That’s including guests, crew, speakers, makers, musicians and chefs. With smaller numbers comes intimacy, community, friendship and last-forever memories.

We like it that way.

#3.

The ever-changing Hollywood-style sign.

“I could have sworn that said ‘WELCOME’ yesterday?”

“But now it says ‘LOVELY’.” “And this morning it said ‘HUNGOVER’, didn’t it?”

We loved it, too.

#4.

Prof. Gavin Screaton in conversation with Charlie Gladstone.

Gavin is Head of Medicine at Oxford University and as such was instrumental in the development and rollout of the COVID vaccine.

In his hour or so chat with Charlie we all learned a great deal, and walked away wishing we were as clever, and humble, as Gavin.

#5.

The dogs, great and small. We think we might be Britain’s friendliest dog festival. It certainly felt like it.

Hundreds of wonderful, impeccably behaved dogs joined us on site. They sniffed and wagged and splashed in the lake.

A lucky few came home with rosettes, too!

#6.

Heavenly Recordings. It was an honour to host Jeff and his crew down at The Park Stage, with a line-up boasting acts such as Gwenno, The Orielles, audiobooks and Boy Azooga.

You just don’t get music that good at festivals of this size.

#7.

The food. From street food to Feasts and campfire cooking demos to Farm Shop breakfasts.

We certainly ate well at Camp Good Life this year!

#8.

The Children’s Campfire. We first had this idea back in 2019 but, for obvious reasons, it was put on hold.

Camp Good Life guests young, middling and old loved it and we’re already shaping our plans for 2022!

#9.

The makers. Expert craftspeople were put right at the centre of Camp Good Life.

From Gail’s all day (and late night) screen printing club, to flower crowns, pottery, linocuts, model making and vinyl art.

The stuff our guests made will be a souvenir of our time together, no matter how successful the outcome!

#10.

The Team. After 24 months of waiting, our team had a few butterflies heading into Camp Good Life.

But those were soon set aside once the throngs descended. We’re so proud of our tiny Good Life crew, so thank you to all of you who took the time to speak to us over the course of the weekend, and for sending such lovely messages after the event.

We feel like we’ve made a thousand new friends.
