  • Where is the Walled Garden School?

    The Walled Garden School is located on the Hawarden Estate in North East Wales. Getting here is easy. We are just 15 minutes from Chester and very close to the A55.

  • Hawarden Estate sounds interesting, what else can I find there?

    Hawarden Estate is home to a farm shop, bakery, deli, pub, pick-your-own fields, wedding venue and events space, holiday accommodation and campsite like no other. Be sure to have a look around during your visit.

  • How do I get to you?

    The nearest train stations to us are Hawarden train station which is a 3 minute drive and 0.8 miles from us, and Chester train station which is a 15 minute drive and 11 miles from us.

  • Where do I park? Is parking free?

    There is a car park right outside the entrance to the walled garden within the estate and parking is completely free.

  • Is the Walled Garden under cover?

    It is indeed, the Walled Garden has a roof so unpredictable Welsh weather needn’t be a problem.

  • What should I bring?

    Just yourself and a refillable water bottle (although we will have glasses available on the day if you forget.) We suggest wearing comfortable clothing and sturdy footwear. There is plenty of shelter in the Walled Garden and the flooring is concrete but it is outdoors after all.

  • Can I come on my own?

    Of course. Our experts and team are the most friendly and supportive people anywhere. You will receive a warm welcome at any of our talks, courses and masterclasses, and we can’t wait to meet you!

  • What about my dietary requirements?

    We offer refreshments at every class, talk and masterclass and most include a lunch. Please make us aware of any food allergies or specific dietary requirements you or your group may have prior to the course taking place.

  • Does the Walled Garden have a toilet?

    Yes. Our washrooms are the best, cleanest and most comfortable anywhere. We also have an accessible toilet and baby change should you require them.

  • Can I stay the night?

    Yes you can. You can stay the night here in our luxury holiday accommodation. Gardener’s House sleeps up to 9 people, and Beekeeper’s Hut sleeps 2, both of which are available to book the whole year around.

    We also have an estate campsite which is open during the Spring / Summer. You can bring your own tent or campervan, or stay in one of our pre-erected bell tents.
