Food & Drink
Tea, Coffee and The Bar
We now have an amazing bar, shop and indoor set up in the Conservatory - our brand new space - which you’ll find behind the greenhouse and loos. This is where you can get proper coffee, breakfast, lunch, drinks, merch and can just generally hang out. The bar is open in here all day and last orders are 10pm.
We are no longer able to offer tea and filter coffee free of charge at Summer Camp. We will provide a hot water urn. You will need to use your own reusable mug, or you can purchase a mug at our shop in the Conservatory.
Food on Hawarden Estate
As well as The Good Life Society, our teams also work for and run Hawarden Estate Farm Shop and The Glynne Arms. These are amazing and are located very near Summer Camp.
The Glynne Arms is our pub, located in the heart of Hawarden Village. It is a great spot for lunch, for a drink or even a coffee on the weekends. During Summer Camp, you can walk up through the park to get to the pub. The gate in the park will be locked. Please use the padlock on the left hand gate - the code is 0124. Please lock it behind you!
Hawarden Estate Farm Shop is also a short walk away, and is home to a fantastic café, bakery and shelves full of amazing gifts, toys, food, homewares and more.
If you would like to book a table at the pub or the Farm Shop please let us know.
Breakfast in The Walled Garden
Breakfast will be prepared by our Hawarden Estate chefs over the fire at our outdoor kitchen every morning from 8am until around 10am.
Please note that breakfast isn’t included in the price of your ticket.
Lunch at Summer Camp
We’ll have some great options on offer, all sourced and prepared by our team, using fresh bread and more from the on site bakery.
You can also head over to the Farm Shop or The Glynne Arms.
We’ll also have an incredible Chef’s Table lunch by Naughty Nonna’s on Saturday — pre-booking required by 3rd July.
Please note that lunch isn’t included in the price of your ticket.
Dinner
Dinner is served on the main Walled Garden terrace between 6pm and 8pm and is provided as part of your ticket price. There isn’t room for all guests to sit down at the same time so there is no need to hurry to be seated at 6pm - everyone will get food though, so don’t worry! We stop serving the main course at 7:30pm and will move on to pudding at that time.
Please talk to us about any allergies that you have not already told us about.

Things to Note
Pop-up Spa
We have a pop-up spa in the Tea House offering workshops and practices. Check the blackboard for what is on offer.
If you’d like to book into a session, please speak to the wellness therapists during the weekend.
Please note, all wellness experiences are an additional charge (except the yoga sessions and group runs).
The Lake and Old Castle
The Lake will be open across the weekend at certain times (see blackboard), but please never swim unless our lifeguard is present.
The Old Castle is open to explore from 7am - 10pm. Please bear in mind that the Old Castle is an ancient monument, and that there are steep drops, wobbly steps, and so on. With this in mind, please do keep a sharp eye on children, and watch where you step!
Electric vehicle charging
We have a charger on site. Please see here for more information.

A Few Words on Safety
The whole point of Summer Camp is to be free and for you to have fun, but there are a few things we need to do to ensure your safety.
Instructions on how to use the wood-fired hot tub and sauna are on signs next to them. Please ask if you are unsure about anything. Make sure to test the heat of the hot tub before entering. Each group or person in the hot tub, plunge pool and sauna must clean and drain after use. No children are allowed in the sauna, and children must have adult supervision in the hot tub.
Please keep your dog on a lead in common areas and keep them under control. Please use the dog poo bins provided.
Take care at The Old Castle. Under 18s must not go to the Old Castle without adult supervision. You may wander around the area, but please be aware that it's a very old, uneven structure with some deep drops. Do not climb any walls. Follow all signage.
There may be times when The Old Castle is closed - we’ll make it clear when these are.
Be careful of the ponds across the site. There are several, and some may be covered in algae and plants. They are roped off or signposted but you must take care.
The Lake is only open during published times when a lifeguard is on duty. When swimming, please avoid the leafy areas and be aware that it’s a wild lake! Please bring a towel and warm up afterwards.
The Cricket Pitch and Pavilion are out of bounds.
Anywhere out of bounds is signposted. If you are not sure where you can go then please ask.
We do have security on site for your safety and for our safety. They are very friendly - say hi!
Please use logs provided. Please don’t take wood, sticks and leaves from the woodland.
Please do not smoke indoors, or inside any tents.
Please only use designated campfire spots.
Please wear flip flops in the showers if you can.
We have a defibrillator on site.
