Rosa Harradine

A brush and broom maker living in wild West Wales.

Rosa works with natural, sustainable materials to make pieces that are beautiful as well as useful. She previously experimented with carving wooden spoons, turning bowls on a traditional pole lathe and weaving baskets, but brushmaking is the craft that stuck!

“All of my brushes and brooms are made by me, entirely by hand. The only mechanised tool that I use is my electric chainsaw which I use for cutting wood for broom handles from my small patch of woodland.”

In 2022, Rosa was selected as a TOAST New Maker.

“Making tangible, useful things helps me to feel grounded. When I’m not crafting, you can find me growing vegetables on a windy hillside, walking in the woods, or renovating my nearly 200 year-old house.”

She will join us at our Summer Camp Craft Weekend in 2025!
