What do I need to bring with me?

And where should I park?

Some other things for everyone to remember:

Please bring swimming trunks, sensible outdoor clothing, towels and flip flops for the showers, warm clothes for the evenings, sun cream, torches for night time and anything else you would usually take on a camping trip.

Our showers have lovely body wash, but no shampoo or conditioner.

Joe Cooper will be leading organised runs on Saturday mornings at 9AM, so please bring running gear if you want to join in - it won’t be a long run and will be the perfect way to get ready for the day!

We have a limited number of lockers, but please remember that valuables are your responsibility.

No smoking, or portable heaters in tents.

Please only use designated campfire areas and never use accelerants when lighting them.

Please also note that the ground in and around the Walled Garden is uneven at points.

Food & drink

As well as The Good Life Society, our teams also work for and run Hawarden Estate Farm Shop and The Glynne Arms. These amazing venues are located very near Summer Camp.

The Glynne Arms is our pub, located in the heart of Hawarden Village. It is a great spot for lunch, for a drink or even a coffee on the weekends. During Summer Camp, you can walk up through the park to get to the pub.

Hawarden Estate Farm Shop is also a short walk away, and is home to a fantastic café and shelves full of amazing local produce.

If you would like to book a table at the pub or the Farm Shop please let us know.

We offer tea and filter coffee free of charge, which you can find near the outdoor kitchen.

Please note: You will need to use your own mug or you can purchase a mug at our shop in the greenhouse.

This year, we have also stepped things up too and have added a shop/bar/cafe/general hang-out spot to the greenhouse. This is where you will now find the bar, merch, lunch options, and proper coffee. Yes!

We run a bar here, too, which will open at 12pm each day. Last orders are at 10pm. Located in the greenhouse.

Breakfast in The Walled Garden
Breakfast will be prepared by the Hawarden Estate chefs over the fire at our outdoor kitchen every morning from 8am until around 9:30am.

Please note that breakfast isn’t included in the price of your ticket.

Lunch
We do not provide lunch as part of your ticket, but we do have some options on offer in the Walled Garden this year. This will be from about 12pm until 1:30pm.

You can also head over to the Farm Shop or Glynne Arms - you can see the seasonal menus on the Hawarden Estate Experience website

Dinner
Dinner is served on the main Walled Garden terrace between 6pm and 8pm and is provided as part of your ticket price.

There isn’t room for all guests to sit down at the same time so there is no need to hurry to be seated at 6pm - everyone will get food though, so don’t worry!

Please talk to us about any allergies.

Pop-up Spa

We have a pop-up spa in the Tea House offering workshops and practices.

Check the blackboard when you’re here for what is on offer. If you’d like to book into a session, please let one of the hosts know.

Please note, all wellness experiences are an additional charge (except the morning yoga sessions).

Summer Camp is something I’ve often dreamt of creating; a small, friendly, comfortable retreat based on the fabled camps of America but for all ages and with better food.

It will be about nature and the great outdoors; you’ll learn new skills, try new activities and make new friends.

Summer Camp will be a retreat, a place to recharge and to explore new places and ideas.

It will be beautiful and super-comfortable. There will be woodsmoke and starlight.

This is the place of your dreams.”
