Dan Kieran is Co-Founder & CEO of Unbound. He is the author of twelve books including The Idle Traveller and his latest Do Start: How to create and run a business (that doesn't run you).

He is a travel writer for The Guardian, Observer, Times, Telegraph and Die Zeit.

Dan presented a BBC Radio 4 programme about the month he spent driving across England in a 1957 vintage milk float and gives talks on entrepreneurship, creative writing and how to have ideas.

At Summer Camp, Dan will give an intimate talk around the campfire titled ‘The Second Journey’.

“When you become an entrepreneur you are setting out on two journeys. The one to build and grow your business, and another to the edge of what you think you are capable of. All entrepreneurs are aware of and excited about the first journey, but very few are prepared, or even aware, of the second one. But it is this second journey that will define whether you 'make it' or not. Because it is only by prioritising your own personal growth that you have any chance of keeping ahead of the growing demands your business will place on you.

Not all of us are entrepreneurs, of course, but the same principle is true in whatever job you do and whether it's paid or unpaid. How we all spend our daily lives is the stage upon which we grow and evolve. The question is how conscious of this we are, and whether we are prepared to engage with our daily lives on these terms. Because if you are prepared to look at life in this way, the benefits are huge.”

Dan will join us on Saturday 22nd July.
