Bristol Fungarium

Ever conscious of the unfolding ecological collapse that confronts us, Bristol Fungarium's founder, Tom, chose to find meaning through working the land in 2008 as an organic veg farmer.

Just over 10 years later, Bristol Fungarium was born with the mission to cultivate, process and provide the best medicinal mushroom products available here in the UK - with the least negative impact on our local environment, while inspiring and educating people about the history, science and healing opportunities of the mushrooms they grow and love.

Bristol Fungarium strive to do things differently by offering medicinal tinctures crafted from predominantly native strains that are organically grown, comprehensively extracted and bottled under a single roof. They are not only the first to make the whole supply chain short and transparent - but potentially the only company who knows exactly where their mushroom's originated in the wild! They do this by carefully foraging for interesting species, taking them back to their lab at the farm, and cloning them on plates of agar before fruiting them on myceliated blocks created with sustainably sourced sawdust and organic wheat bran.

Their ultimate goal is to give back to the land, both by utilising the “spent” (leftover) substrate from their mushroom blocks to spearhead mycoremediation projects, and "re-mushrooming" woodlands across the South West with native strains.

In the afternoon of Friday 14th July, Tom will host a talk and workshop.

  1. Mushrooms: Beyond The Mind - how mushrooms support the body and bring balance to the earth

  2. Mushroom Inoculation workshop - learn how to cultivate mushrooms
